MADISON COUNTY—The Natural Health Ministry of Madison County, Kentucky Chapter is a local outreach chapter of Herbalists Without Borders. Its purpose is to make herbal education, natural wellness resources, and basic community-care supplies more accessible to people in our area, regardless of their finances or prior knowledge of herbs.
Outreach has included:
Free community care kits, including children’s and women’s kits
Blessing bags for unhoused individuals
Oral-health supplies, plus vitamins and supplements when available
Disaster-relief supplies
Plant education, food-as-medicine and kitchen herbalism classes, plant walks, and workshops
"Grow a Row" efforts
You don’t have to be an herbalist to help.
HWB welcomes anyone with a heart for serving their neighbors. Volunteers can assemble and pack care kits and blessing bags, organize donated supplies, assist with events and educational activities, grow or donate herbs and garden plants, take part in "Grow a Row" projects, help with outreach, or contribute needed products.
Gardeners, students, families, wellness professionals, herbalists, and community members of every experience level can find a place to serve. We learn together while serving together.
The chapter’s larger goal is to build stronger community connections and help people feel more confident in simple, practical ways of caring for themselves, their families, and their neighbors. Whether you give your time, donate supplies, grow an extra row of herbs in your own garden, help prepare kits, or support a project, every contribution helps reach another person.
If you’d like to volunteer, partner, donate supplies, or learn more, please contact the HWB Chapter Coordinator Penny Whittemore, or visit the Herbalists Without Borders Global website.
