The Madison County Veterans Committee offers important support for functions unique to soldiers. This includes assistance with obtaining healthcare and other benefits from the Veterans Administration, performing Honor Guard rifle and Taps salutes at funerals, as well as providing opportunities for fellowship, including at a weekly breakfast.

Open to all US armed forces veterans, the breakfast is served every Friday beginning at 8am, at the Madison County Veterans Center at 1215 W. Main Street, in Richmond. Families of veterans are also welcome.

The Veterans Committee seeks volunteers to help serve these locations: American Legion Post 12 in Richmond, American Legion Post 50 in Berea, Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 7098 in Richmond, Marine Corps League Detachment 1012 in Richmond, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 55, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1066 in Big Hill.

The Veterans Committee meets the first Thursday each month at 6:30pm at the Madison County Veteran Center. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help support any any of the armed forces posts can call Paul Mazurek, Chairman of the Madison County Veterans Committee, at 859-200-4790 and he will be happy to introduce you to volunteer opportunities.
